A new report has shown that electric vehicle business fleets can have clear financial benefits.
The report, released by independent organisation The Climate Group, also provides practical guidance to businesses so they can determine whether an electric vehicle fleet could improve their bottom line.

Breakthrough for public charging & vehicle conversions
A recent project has modified a converted fuel-to-electric vehicle so it can use public chargers.
Most converted vehicles plug into a household three-pinned power point, making them incompatible with the wider public charging network. A converted vehicle from the CERES Community Environment Park fleet has been upgraded to align with electric vehicle charging standards.

Origin supports LEAF rollout
An agreement between Origin Energy and Nissan Australia will provide LEAF owners with equipment installation and support services. The LEAF is Nissan’s showcase electric vehicle.
Commercial, fleet and residential purchasers of the Nissan LEAF will benefit from Origin’s fully-installed charging equipment and services, as well as electricity management and advice.

Balancing the bowser and the grid
Some participants in the Victorian Electric Vehicle Trial have been trying to balance petrol and electricity use of their cars. They have provided a range of views on Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technology on the trial discussion board.
PHEVs source their energy from both the bowser and the grid to avoid the range limitations of full electric vehicles - while reducing operating costs.
